Kenyan Southampton Midfilder, Victor Wanyama to leave Southampton for Tottenham Hotspurs

Kenyan Southampton Midfilder, Victor Wanyama to leave Southampton for Tottenham Hotspurs

The Kenyan Southampton midfielder, Victor Wanyama has declined a new contract at Southampton and told his manager that he wants to leave the club before the transfer window closes. Wanyama, who joined Southampton after a successful season in Celetic football club and after having played in the UEFA champions league and scoring against world’s football power Barcelona; is romoured to be heading to Tottenham to reunite with his former manager Mauricio Pochetinno.

Wanyama had a succefful 2014/15 season which saw him score a number of prolific goals for Southampton and although he was not in the preferred starting line up for his club last season. The departure of Calum Chambers to Arsenal last season andthis season departure of Morgan Schneiderlin to Manchester united, leave the Kenyan star with room to showcase his skills at Southampton.

ss This is may not be the case and he now has to venture into a new opportunity in a team which looks to probably have more midfielders than Southampton. While this may not look like a good decision by the Kenyan, time will tell whether leaving Southampton at a time when his playing time looks promising is the right decision.
